Mental Health Associate (Aid and Assist Case Manager)

Lane County Oregon, US (Onsite) Full-Time
$25.97 - $34.71/Hour

** This position is eligible for sign-on compensation of $4,500! **  

About the Position

Lane County Behavioral Health is looking for a highly skilled individual to fill the role of Case Manager for the Aid and Assist Team. This position serves adults with severe and persistent mental illness and who are engaged in the process to determine fitness to participate in their own defense. This is a position for someone who is interested in systems level engagement along with client care.

The ideal candidate is interested in being a part of a multidisciplinary team which includes behavioral health staff who interface frequently with Oregon State Hospital staff, municipal and circuit court staff, psychiatrists and law enforcement personnel. The Case Manager will provide outreach and support in the community, as well as in-reach at the Oregon State Hospital and other adult correction facilities for individuals whose fitness to participate in their own defense is in question. This person will utilize evidence-based treatments and supports while being responsible for supporting the participation of individuals in community based restoration including legal skills training, assisting with housing stabilization and engagement in mandated treatment.

Lane County Behavioral Health is looking for dedicated individuals who are focused on solutions, with a passion to serve and who are driven to connect. This position does require QMHA certification through MHACBO Where as this position requires significant in-person work, telework may be available for permanent employees.

About the Division

Lane County Behavioral Health provides services to more than 1,600 individuals with behavioral health conditions. We work with community partners to provide a continuum of care from prevention through treatment and aftercare in an environment that promotes a culture of resilience and recovery.

Job Requirements:

Training: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a behavioral science field from an accredited university with major course work in a mental health field, psychology, sociology or a related field.

Or:

Experience: 

  • At least one year of work experience working directly with mentally or emotionally disturbed clients, and a combination of education, training and/or work experience in a behavioral sciences field that totals two additional years, plus the required competencies.

Or:

  • A combination of at least three year's relevant work, education, training or experience, AND have the competencies necessary to a) communicate effectively, b) understand mental health assessment treatment and service terminology and to apply the concepts, and c) provide psychosocial skills development and to implement interventions prescribed on a treatment plan within their scope of practice, is qualifying.
