About the Position

Lane County Developmental Disabilities Services is seeking to fill a temporary Developmental Disabilities Specialist position within our agency. This is a very exciting opportunity to make a difference for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities! The role of the Developmental Disabilities Monitoring Specialist will include responsibility for assessing individual needs, plan review, monitoring, and follow-up.


This position interacts with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their support providers in a variety of different settings. During the course of the workday, there will be frequent contact via in person or video meetings, telephone calls and email with the individuals we serve, family members, advocates, service providers, and other professionals in the community. You will be a part of a strong and supportive team.

Regular supervision is provided including on-boarding, training, and support to learn the County and State rules and regulations. As our office continues to adjust and adapt to new ways of doing our work, there will be opportunities for teleworking weekly. We actively value using an equity lens & trauma informed principles. Ongoing support, training and education in these areas is a strong focus in our workplace.

Lane County Developmental Disabilities Services strives to provide a responsive, cooperative lifespan delivery system of support, training, care, monitoring, protection and crisis response for persons with developmental disabilities and their families. Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 5:00pm; Hybrid telework may be optional or a condition of employment depending on the needs of the division at the time of hire. 


The initial training period will be entirely on site. Upon successful training, candidate and supervisor will discuss telework at the candidate's preference. Position can be partially or substantially remote depending upon productivity, skills and preferences.

*This position is budgeted for a maximum of 1,040 hours during the fiscal year.

Job Requirements:

Training:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience:

  • One year of experience of working with persons with developmental disabilities.

An equivalent combination of experience and training that will demonstrate the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.

Notes:

  • This position is subject to a full criminal offender information record check. 
  • Offers of employment are contingent upon consenting to and successfully passing a drug screening test.
