Fee Collection Supervisor - Waste Management Program

$38.58 - $52.80/Hour

About the Position

The Waste Management Division of Lane County Public Works seeks a Program Supervisor to provide collaborative and solution-oriented leadership for its Waste Acceptance Program. 

Along with a co-Program Supervisor, this position supervises a staff of 40 full and part-time service professionals who work 7 days a week at 16 waste collection sites located across Lane County. 

Duties include staff communication, scheduling and shift assignments; reviewing and approving timecards; and hiring, training and reviewing personnel. In addition, this position supervises the reconciliation of fee collection functions including daily receipts, change funds, and the cash vault; ensures the accuracy and protection of user fees; manages customer service issues; plans for special projects; and coordinates and communicates with other Waste Management work groups, including Transfer Operations and Waste Reduction. 

NOTE: Strong communication skills are essential. The two Program Supervisors overlap their schedules two days per week, so operational efficiency requires the two positions to routinely share detailed information, as well as big picture plans.

About the Division

WASTE MANAGEMENT: The Division of Waste Management oversees the management of solid recycling and solid waste in Lane County. The Division’s mission is to provide, safe, responsible and economical recycling and disposal services, while respecting the environment and the communities it serves.



Schedule: Wednesday – Saturday, 7:45 a.m. – 6:15 p.m. Shifts are four (4) / ten hour days, including one weekend day. Shifts change per operational needs.

Job Requirements:

Training and Experience

  • Seven years of education and/or experience in solid waste management site operations or in roles that require high-volume cash handling and reporting, including one year of experience in a supervisory, management, or leadership role; or a combination sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position.

Licensing Requirements:

  • Oregon Driver's License.
