About the Position
We have an exciting opportunity for an Office Assistant in the Lane County Clerk’s Division at the Deeds and Records Office!
This position is part of a positive, highly productive, and detail-oriented team that excels at providing excellent customer service to the community. As a member of this team, you would perform a variety of tasks such as recording property documents, issuing marriage licenses and domestic partnerships, prepare for civil marriage ceremonies, retain county records, and support the Property Value Appeals Board process. Deeds and Records staff also support the Elections Office during peak election cycles.

This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can manage a variety of public-facing and administrative responsibilities with accuracy and care. Key duties include processing cash, credit card, and check transactions; recording property documents efficiently and correctly; and issuing marriage licenses and domestic partnerships. The position also involves performing civil ceremonies and processing property tax appeal petitions, ensuring each step is handled with precision and in compliance with applicable procedures.
In addition, this role plays an important part in supporting democratic processes by assisting the Elections team during election cycles. Responsibilities may include processing ballots, assisting voters, and helping ensure election activities run smoothly. Throughout all tasks, the successful candidate will provide excellent customer service and maintain a high degree of attention to detail, accuracy, and professionalism in every interaction and transaction.
About the Division
The County Clerk will administer all federal, state, and local laws as they apply to conducting elections, processing voter registration, recording land documents, and issuing marriage licenses, while maintaining the highest degree of integrity and accuracy, and providing exceptional customer service.Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 4:30pm; possible overtime and limited periods of time with restricted time off, during peak election season.
