Accounting Analyst

$28.69 - $38.30/Hour


About the Position

Lane County Financial Services is currently seeking an Accounting Analyst. If you have a passion for ensuring that all financial components of the organization are well-organized and executed timely, accurately, and efficiently while providing superior customer service, then you might be interested in this opportunity.

The primary responsibilities of the Accounting Analyst are fixed asset accounting, trust account reconciliation and monitoring, along with tracking and distribution of Car Rental and Transient Lodging Taxes. The Accounting Analyst also serves as a critical partner in the year end audit process, preparing multiple workpapers and adjusting entries and working with auditors to provide requested information. This position is vital to the ongoing operations of the department. The successful candidate will have great analytical skills and a commitment to meeting timelines while being detail-orientated and producing accurate work.


About the Division

As part of the County Administration Department, the 16 FTE in the Financial Services Division perform functions related to accounting, financial reporting, investment of funds, cash management, debt management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll administration, and procurement. Financial Services is responsible for maintaining and reporting all financial transactions on an accurate and timely basis and preparing financial statements following Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, including the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR). Financial Services maintains effective accounting systems to control and report the receipt and disbursement of County and taxing districts funds and is responsible for receiving and recording all County expenditures and revenue obligations.

Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00am – 5:00pm

Job Requirements:

Training

  • Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, fiscal management or accounting or a related field.

Experience
  • Three years of increasingly responsible experience in financial, accounting or statistical record-keeping and analysis. 


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Some experience in a lead capacity is desirable.

  • Direct financial or accounting experience with federal or state employment and training programs is desirable.


An equivalent combination of experience and training that will demonstrate the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
