Job Requirements of Mental Health Specialist, Senior - Post Commitment Liaison:
Training:
Master's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a mental health field, psychology, sociology, counseling or a related field.
Experience:
- Three years of responsible professional mental health or professional mental health crisis experience.
- An equivalent combination of experience and training that will demonstrate the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.

Mental Health Specialist, Senior - Post Commitment Liaison

About the Position
Lane County Behavior Health is looking for a dynamic individual to fill the role of Post-Commitment Liaison working in collaboration with our Civil Commitment Team. This position monitors and supports civilly committed adults in Lane County who are placed at the Oregon State Hospital or are on a Trial Visit in the community (living independently or in residential settings). This is a full-time position within a supportive team. After 6 months of successful employment, the position is eligible for hybrid telework.
Additional responsibilities include coordinating with hospitals, treatment providers, and the CHOICE residential team; writing director’s custodies when appropriate; and attending hearings on occasion. This is not a role that provides therapy and there are no productivity requirements for this position.
The Post-Commitment Liaison will also be cross-trained to conduct civil commitment investigations, when ready to learn more. Our ideal candidate works as part of a cohesive team, seeks consultation when needed, and communicates effectively. This liaison will be flexible and adapt to a variety of problems or needs, is able to prioritize and have good time management skills, and can work independently.
For this recruitment we are looking for individuals with a passion to serve adults with severe and persistent mental health needs who are also engaged in the Civil Commitment process. If you are driven to serve, this is the job for you! This position requires an unencumbered license as an LPC, LMFT, LCSW or Licensed Psychologist as well as certification as a Civil Commitment Investigator with OHA within 60 days of hire.

Lane County Behavioral Health provides services to more than 1,600 individuals with behavioral health conditions. We work with community partners to provide a continuum of care from prevention through treatment and aftercare in an environment that promotes a culture of resilience and recovery.
