Job Requirements of Waste Acceptance Technician - Oakridge:
Training:
- Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade. Training in making cash transactions, counting change, and operating computer equipment is desirable.
Experience:
- One year of experience in public contact work or clerical work.
- An equivalent combination of experience and training that will demonstrate the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying
Desirable Qualifications:
- Training in making cash transactions, counting change and operating computer and cash registers is desirable, as is experienced with high volume cash handling and reporting.
Special Qualifications:
- Required to possess a valid Oregon Driver's License.

Waste Acceptance Technician - Oakridge
About the Position
Lane County Public Works is seeking to fill a Waste Management Acceptance Technician position.
Do you like working directly with people? Do you have a head for numbers? This position performs a variety of duties involving collection of fees for solid waste disposal; including handling cash, issuing receipts, calculating and reporting daily transactions, making bank deposits, and picking up and delivering supplies. Position will be assigned to Oakridge, but may be trained for other sites as needed.
About the Division
The Waste Management Division oversees the management of solid recycling and solid waste in Lane County. The Division’s mission is to provide, safe, responsible and economical recycling and disposal services, while respecting the environment and the communities it serves.Schedule: Wednesday-Saturday, 7:30am-6:15pm with an unpaid 45-min. lunch, or scheduled as needed for operational needs.
